Ok I know I need a good kick up the bum when it comes to updating my blog posts but I am finally revealing 7 facts about moi after being tagged by the lovely Second Time Mummy 2 weeks ago (told you!) This has taken some major thinking and scraping of the barrel but here goes, iiiiiinnnnnn 1......
1. I was once asked by George Benson (yep as in 'The Greatest Love of All') where he could buy hair dye from and I then had to direct him to Boots the chemist, you couldnt make it up!
2. I love tomato flavoured food ie, tomato soup, pizza, sauce, but could I eat a slice of an actual tomato on its own? Not on your nelly!
3. When I was 8 I had a pet hamster called.... no not Fluffy, nope not Cuddles. Yep thats right, Jazzy B. I was a big Soul to Soul fan!
4. I always thought the words to The Clash's 'Rock the Kasbah' were 'Rock the dancefloor' until the Fludeman (much to his amusement) corrected me. I still don't know if I've spelt 'Kasbah' right!
5. Talking of the Fludeman, we first met in the most romantic of places, you guessed it..... the local chippy. Its what fairytales are made of ;-)
6. Every new years eve when I was a kid, me, my 2 brothers and sister would listen to Paul Mcartneys 'Sea Moon'. Why I hear you ask? I haven't got a clue!
7. And speaking of Paul Mcartney he once asked my (then teenaged) Mum out on a date after one of The Beatles early gigs in Liverpool. She told him to sling his hook.
Ok I know that last one wasn't technically about me but its a gudden!

Our Little Mermaid!
When I was a kid I loved nothing more than being in a swimming pool whether it was at the local baths or on holiday and I want 'L' to enjoy it as much as I did and still do. So when I heard about the local pool doing 10 week courses for babies I jumped at the chance to put her name down. I had no idea what the lessons consisted of I just knew that I wanted her to be comfortable in water and not afraid of it as I know many children can be.
So 10 weeks ago, kitted out in her first swimsuit, we went along to our first class. This is were the nerves set in. We were told to sit the babies on the side of the pool, sing Humpty Dumpty to them and then, wait for it, dunk them under the water! 'Are you mad?' was my initial reaction, you cant dunk a baby, did the authorities know about this? But as it turns out babies are the most natural of underwater swimmers and 'L' didnt even flinch, in fact by the look on her face she quite enjoyed it! The classes arent just about putting the babies underwater, there are nursery rhymes, swimming on floats, playing with toys and teaching them to grip onto the side all of which she loved!
'L'is now a very confident little water baby, sometimes overly so as she would create the biggest splashes drenching the other more timid babies!
The 10 weeks are over now and she has received her first (of many I hope), 1st Wave certificate for swimming underwater and underwater through a hoop! What is also fab is that they get a picture taken of themselves swimming underwater which now has pride of place in our living room!
Well done 'L', our beautiful little mermaid! xxxx

The start of an era!
Welcome to my very first blog, 'And Then There Were 3!'. As of January this year my husband and I became the very proud parents of our beautiful baby girl 'L'. This is my general diary of my new life as a full time Mummy and all that it entails.
My husband and I got married in 2008 after 7 and a half years together (we're not ones for jumping the gun!) and soon after made the exciting/scary/life changing decision to turn our 2 into a 3. This was the biggest decision we had ever made. Before this the only things we had to decide on were, 'Stay in or go out?', 'Chinese or Indian?', 'Heels or flats?' (ok that last one was just me but you get the picture), and now we were ready for more. So, spot on her due date along came our girl, our new best friend, all 6 pound 12 of her!
And then there were 3!
Now our 'L' is 8 months old, babbling and cooing, giving cheeky giggles and toothy smiles that melt my heart. The sleepless nights have subsided as have the dark circles, (shame the same can't be said for my wobbly bits!) and she is blossoming by the minute!
I hope you enjoy my tales of being a new Mummy and the adventures this is sure to bring. And, contrary to the saying, three is definitely not a crowd, its the magic number.
